Atlanta Foodies to Follow in 2017

We visit some food blogs because we want to eat healthier. Others, we read because we just think they’re clever. And then, there are the food bloggers we turn to repeatedly because we secretly wish we lived their lives.

There are food bloggers out there who are living the dream — and they’re sharing it all for us to see.

Whether it’s a mastery of slow living, a bountiful garden or just a really gorgeous kitchen that caught our eye, we’ve rounded up our favorite Atlanta, GA foodies that actually make us green with envy. 

Denise Romeo

Denise Romeo was voted Best Atlanta Food Blog of 2016 by Best Self Atlanta Magazine. Denise Romeo is a loving wife and mother who enjoys the thrill of exploring new heights of the culinary world inside and outside of her kitchen. Jehan Powell

Originally from Guyana, South America, Jehan enjoys blogging about cuisine from Guyana and the Caribbean because she felt as though there was a lack of authentic recipes online. She’s passionate about various cultural foods—and creates mouthwatering recipes that prove it. Follow her @jehancancook.

Demetra Overton

If there was anyone that I would want to prepare my food, it would be a professional chef with over 20 years of experience. Demetra has worked in establishments such as Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown, NY and the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Buckhead, GA. She is skilled in a wide variety of cooking techniquest from both the savory and sweet sides of the kitchen. Some of her delicious recipes and pictures can be found @sweetsavant on Instagram.

Mark Phillips

Chef Mark ‘Southern Temptation’ Phillips is an artist who tantalizes both your taste buds and your visual senses. He fine-tuned his culinary skills at Johnson & Wales University (North Miami, FL) obtaining an A.S. degree in Culinary Arts and a B.A. degree in Food Service Management, then enhanced his expertise with Chef Max Miami Catering and eventually becoming an executive chef and now the creator and owner of Southern Temptation. Erica Key

Driven by her appetite for different dining experiences, Erica set out to bring awareness to her community.  She is in motion to fuse the lines that separate culture, nutrition, and dining out.  Much of her experience comes from working at Dining Out Magazine in Atlanta, Georgia. ‘Eating With Erica’ currently has a column in Hype Magazine called Food Stamped and is currently the brand ambassador for Zaxby’s, and House of Bidalle Showroom. Steven Lingenfelter

Chef Steven Lingenfelter is a native of Louisville and started his culinary dream at the tender age of 9. He acquired his degree at a university of culinary arts in New England and has held positions at several prominent Atlanta restaurants such as Spotter Trotter, Veni Vedi Vici, Alluvia at The Cheetah Lounge and Antica Posta. Illegal Food was the People’s Choice Award Winner for Taste Old Fourth Ward last May. Its Okonomiyaki-style fries were featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America” as one of the country’s “craziest fries”. He is self proclaimed dedicated foodie, squirrel wrangler, ass kicker, name taker, whiskey drinker, and all things bad ass. Follow him @illegalfoodatl.
